Roberta Harris: UP
July 12, 2009 - September 6, 2009
"The exhibit UP is fundamentally about hope. Hope is not wishful thinking. Hope is rather the ability to stand amid what is broken and chaotic and envision a positive future story.” – Roberta Harris
"Fatcat", © Roberta HarrisRoberta Harris: UP is a retrospective of art by Houston-area artist Roberta Harris from 1985 to the present. The exhibit will explore the role of culturally significant symbols and their meanings in art with a focus on the concept of "Hope" and its complements – joy, strategy, peace and imagination. Roberta Harris utilizes these thematic symbols to elicit conversation among viewers, as well as between the lone viewer and the art itself.
